What S1-S9 Means
The large Vinidor cabinets are the only Liebherr wine models that use an S prefix at all. The WTes and WTpes 5972 list S1, S2, S7 and S8 alongside F1 and F8; the WTes 5872 extends it to S1, S2, S3, S7, S8 and S9. Liebherr gives the entire set one meaning — the appliance has suffered a problem — and no per-letter breakdown.
Common Causes of S1-S9
- An internal problem stored against one of the S identifiers
- A zone regulation or sensing circuit reporting outside its accepted range
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Write down the exact code, since S2 and S8 are easy to confuse on a small seven-segment display and they point a technician at different parts of the service documentation. Note which zone is affected as well, because these are multi-zone cabinets and that halves the search.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The S-series exists only on the big multi-zone Vinidor cabinets, which means a generic Liebherr troubleshooting article is almost certainly not describing your appliance when it talks about F-numbers.
- These cabinets typically hold a hundred bottles or more in a room-facing installation, so the cost of getting the diagnosis wrong is measured in the collection rather than in the call-out.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
