What Climate Class SN / SN-ST Means
Liebherr rates its wine cabinets to a climate class and prints it on the rating plate inside. SN covers ambient temperatures from plus 10 to plus 32 degrees Celsius; SN-ST stretches the upper end to plus 38. The manuals state plainly that these limits should not be exceeded, which makes the room part of the specification rather than an afterthought.
Common Causes of Climate Class SN / SN-ST
- The cabinet installed somewhere that falls below its rated minimum in winter
- A kitchen, conservatory or south-facing room exceeding the rated maximum in summer
- A cabinet chosen for one location and later moved to another with a different profile
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Find the class on the rating plate — on most wine cabinets it is at the top left inside — and compare it with the room the cabinet actually lives in across a full year, not just today. A cellar that drops below plus 10 in January is as much of a problem as a kitchen that reaches 35 in July.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A cabinet struggling because of where it stands is not failing, and a visit that ends in that conclusion is an expensive way to read the rating plate.
- If the room is genuinely inside the rated band and the cabinet still cannot hold its setting, the environment has been eliminated and the appliance has not.
