What SENSOR FAULT Means
SENSOR FAULT on the PremiumPlus text display is one of Liebherr's IceMaker messages, not a cabinet-temperature message. The ice-making side has lost a sensing input it relies on to know when to fill, when to freeze and when to eject, and it raises the audible alarm to say so.
Common Causes of SENSOR FAULT
- A sensing input the IceMaker control depends on has stopped reporting credibly
- A connection to that sensor has worked loose or corroded in the cold, damp environment around an ice maker
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press OK to stop the alarm. Beyond checking that nothing has been jammed against the mechanism during loading, there is no owner-side test for a sensing circuit, and Liebherr sends this one to after-sales service if a handling error is not the explanation.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- An ice maker that no longer knows the state of its own cycle can fill when it should not, which is the mechanism behind most of the quiet water damage found inside these cabinets.
- The sensing loom runs into a freezer compartment on an appliance fixed into cabinetry, so reaching it is a strip-down rather than a reach-behind, and it is easy to damage more than you diagnose.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
