What b1-b9 Means
A display reading b1 through b9 is the BioFresh compartment's own adjustment scale, shown while you are setting it rather than during normal operation. Liebherr ships these cabinets on b5, the midpoint, and the compartment otherwise regulates itself automatically at just above freezing.
Common Causes of b1-b9
- The BioFresh setting mode was entered deliberately to adjust the drawer
- A button combination was held long enough to open the setting mode by accident
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If you have landed in this setting accidentally, leaving the buttons alone returns the display to a normal temperature after a few seconds. If you meant to change it, Liebherr's own warning matters: dropping from b4 down to b1 can take the drawer below zero, and food stored there will start to freeze slightly.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- This is genuinely an owner adjustment, and the only real risk in it is setting the drawer colder than the food in it will tolerate — which shows up as frozen salad rather than as an error code.
- A BioFresh drawer that will not hold its setting whatever you choose on the b scale is a different problem entirely, and that one does need measuring rather than adjusting.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
