What CHECK WATER SUPPLY Means
This is one of four IceMaker problem messages Liebherr spells out on the PremiumPlus text display. CHECK WATER SUPPLY with the audible alarm means the ice-making side reported a problem involving its water feed, and the display then shows both the temperature and the IceMaker problem together.
Common Causes of CHECK WATER SUPPLY
- The water connection to the appliance is closed or has been shut off
- The screen in the water intake hose end piece or the appliance connector is blocked
- The water intake to the IceMaker has been interrupted somewhere along the hose run
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Silence the beep with the OK button, then work through what Liebherr lists as handling errors before assuming a breakdown: the water connection actually open, the IceMaker drawer properly closed, the hose not kinked, and the screens in the hose end piece and the appliance connector not blocked. Those screens silt up with scale and sand and are the most common reason this message appears.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Liebherr frames this one as worth checking for a handling error first, but adds that if the problem cannot be corrected that way it goes to after-sales service — repeated acknowledgement without a fix simply keeps the ice bin empty.
- Working on the supply behind a built-in cabinet means moving an appliance that is fixed into furniture and sits on a live water line, which is a good reason to have the joint checked properly rather than nudged.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
