What Alarm Symbol Means
Liebherr uses a dedicated alarm symbol on the panel, and its flashing has two quite different readings depending on when it starts. At switch-on it flashes alongside the temperature display until the compartment has pulled down, which is expected. Appearing later, on a cabinet that has been running for days, it is reporting that the compartment has drifted warmer than the control accepts.
Common Causes of Alarm Symbol
- Normal pull-down after the appliance was switched on or restarted
- A large load of warm food placed inside without the rapid-cool function
- A door left ajar or a seal no longer gripping
- A cooling problem the alarm is reporting rather than a loading event
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Note when the symbol started. Fresh from switch-on, or two hours after a big shop went in, it will clear itself as the compartment recovers. Appearing out of nowhere on a settled cabinet, check the door and seal first, then watch whether the temperature falls back over the next few hours.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The symbol itself does not distinguish between a cabinet that is still cooling down and a cabinet that has stopped being able to, and that distinction is the whole diagnosis.
- An alarm that keeps returning on a closed door has ruled out the easy explanations already, which is exactly the point at which measurement beats waiting.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
