What Audible Door Alarm Means
Liebherr sets its door alarm at sixty seconds on the freezer side: past that, the audible warning sounds until the door is closed or the alarm is acknowledged. On the app-connected models the same event can be forwarded to a phone, which is why some households find out about an open freezer from across town.
Common Causes of Audible Door Alarm
- The door genuinely stood open past a minute while loading or rearranging
- A drawer, basket or package fouling the door and stopping it latching
- A seal that has hardened or torn with age and no longer compresses
- Frost on the frame preventing the door from pulling fully home
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Close the door and the alarm ends. If it sounds on a door you are sure is shut, run a hand along the seal for cold spots and check whether a drawer front or an over-packed basket is holding the door a few millimetres off its frame.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A seal that fails to close reliably lets humid room air in continuously, which on a non-NoFrost freezer converts straight into ice and on a NoFrost one into a defrost system working far harder than it should.
- Door alignment on an integrated Liebherr is set by the furniture front as much as by the appliance, so a persistent alarm there is usually an adjustment rather than a part.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
