What MENU Means
MENU showing or flashing in a Liebherr display means the appliance is in its settings mode rather than in normal operation. On the G Comfort freezers it is part of the documented sequence for leaving demo mode; on the text-display cabinets it heads the main menu that carries the child lock and the additional functions.
Common Causes of MENU
- A long or combined button press opened the settings mode
- A documented sequence — clearing demo mode, setting the child lock — was started and not completed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If you have arrived here by accident, most generations drop back to normal operation on their own after a short period of inactivity, and the manuals also document an exit button. Nothing changes until a value is confirmed, so backing out is safe.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- While the menu is open the panel does not behave like a normal display, which is enough to convince people that something has failed when nothing has.
- The settings behind that menu include demo mode, and leaving one half-changed is how a freezer ends up in showroom mode by accident.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
