What Alarm at Switch-On Means
A new or newly reconnected Liebherr wine cabinet sounds its alarm and flashes the temperature display as soon as it is switched on. Liebherr documents this as expected: the cabinet is warm, the alarm is doing exactly what it is designed to do, and the alarm button silences it while the cabinet pulls down.
Common Causes of Alarm at Switch-On
- Normal first switch-on with the cabinet at room temperature
- Reconnection after a move, a power cut or a long period switched off
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press the alarm button to silence it, then leave the cabinet closed and empty for a few hours before loading bottles. Filling a warm cabinet with wine simply gives the compressor more to shift and keeps the alarm condition alive longer.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The same alarm on a settled cabinet means something quite different, so knowing which situation you are in is the whole point of understanding this one.
- A cabinet that never reaches its setting, and keeps re-alarming for days after installation, has stopped being a pull-down and is worth a call.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
