What c0 / c1 Means
The c item in Liebherr's set-up mode is the child lock: c1 turns it on, c0 turns it off. Liebherr describes its purpose as preventing the appliance from being switched off accidentally, and while it is active a key symbol stays lit on the display — which is the clue that separates a locked freezer from a broken one.
Common Causes of c0 / c1
- The lock was enabled deliberately and forgotten about
- A long press while wiping the panel down opened set-up mode and changed it
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If the panel has stopped responding, look for the key symbol before concluding anything. Re-enter set-up mode as your manual describes, usually by holding one button for around five seconds, then select c and set it to c0.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- An unresponsive panel is the sign people most often report as a control failure, and a lit key symbol is the cheapest possible explanation for it.
- If the documented release sequence does nothing at all, the panel is no longer registering input properly, and that has become a genuine problem rather than a setting.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
