What SuperFrost Symbol Flashing Means
On several Liebherr freezer generations there is no F-number at all — the appliance reports a problem by flashing the SuperFrost symbol in step with the temperature display. The GN Comfort NoFrost freezers and the CBP combined cabinets both use this signal, and the Malfunction chapter gives it the same answer as a numbered code: there is a problem, contact after-sales service.
Common Causes of SuperFrost Symbol Flashing
- An internal problem the control reports through the symbol rather than a numbered display
- A monitored circuit the electronics can no longer accept a reading from
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Confirm what you are actually seeing, because SuperFrost lit on its own is simply the rapid-freeze function running and will end by itself. The problem signal is the symbol and the temperature display flashing together — a pairing that does not happen during normal rapid freezing.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Because this signal carries no number at all, there is nothing for an owner to look up and nothing to narrow it down with — the read-out has to come off the control itself.
- It is easy to dismiss as the rapid-freeze indicator being stubborn, and a problem mistaken for a function is a problem that gets weeks of grace it should not have had.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
