What DEMO Means
DEMO on a Liebherr freezer means the appliance is presenting itself the way it would on a shop floor: the panel lights, a plausible temperature sits in the display, and the cooling circuit is switched off. Liebherr provides it so appliances can be shown at exhibitions and in salesrooms, and it occasionally arrives in a customer's home still enabled.
Common Causes of DEMO
- Showroom mode left active when the appliance was sold on or delivered
- The key combination that toggles the mode pressed unintentionally
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Get the frozen load somewhere genuinely cold before anything else, because the cabinet is not freezing whatever the number says. Some freezers in the G Comfort family document an owner exit through the MENU sequence in the manual; the Comfort NoFrost and Premium manuals instead send it to the after-sales service, so follow the instructions for your own model.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- This is the single most misleading condition a freezer can be in, because every visible signal says it is working while the contents thaw at room pace.
- Where the documented exit sequence does not take, the control needs service-level access to be put back into normal operation, and no amount of button pressing substitutes for that.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
