What TEMPERATURE TOO HIGH Means
Liebherr's temperature alarm on the text-display cabinets sounds when the freezer side is not cold enough and writes TEMPERATURE TOO HIGH on the panel. The manual lists four possible reasons for it, and is careful to put "the appliance is failing" alongside the three innocent ones rather than leaving it out.
Common Causes of TEMPERATURE TOO HIGH
- Warm fresh food placed inside without the rapid-freeze function running
- Excess warm ambient air admitted while rearranging or removing food
- A power interruption that lasted long enough to lose the compartment's reserve
- A genuine appliance problem, which is the case Liebherr lists last and explicitly
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Work through the innocent explanations first, because they cover most cases: warm fresh food just loaded, a lot of warm room air pulled in while rearranging, or a power interruption the cabinet is still recovering from. The alarm silences itself once the compartment is cold again, so an alarm that will not clear has answered the question for you.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The alarm clearing on its own is the test: if the compartment recovers, the cause was a loading or door event, and if it does not, the remaining item on Liebherr's own list is the appliance itself.
- A NoFrost freezer that cannot recover usually has a fan, defrost or sealed-circuit reason behind it, and none of those is diagnosable by watching the number on the front.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
