What POWER FAILURE Means
On the PremiumPlus cabinets with the full text display, Liebherr spells the power-interruption warning out in words rather than as a symbol. POWER FAILURE with the audible alarm means freezer temperature climbed too far over recent hours or days while the supply was out; the appliance carried on at its last setting once power came back.
Common Causes of POWER FAILURE
- A mains interruption long enough for the frozen side to rise past its threshold
- A tripped breaker, a pulled plug or a socket that lost contact
- A supply problem that persisted rather than a momentary flicker
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press the OK button to silence the beep and bring the temperature reading back, then judge the food on what you find rather than on how long you think the power was off. Liebherr's instruction is blunt about the point of the message: check the quality of the food and do not eat anything spoiled.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Liebherr adds one condition worth taking seriously: if POWER FAILURE keeps being displayed after you acknowledge it, that is no longer a report about the past and the after-sales service should look at it.
- A message that returns without any actual outage points at something in the appliance or the supply to it, and working out which of those two it is needs a meter at the socket rather than another press of OK.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
