What FE Means
FE is listed separately from the F-number range in Liebherr's Controls and displays chapter, marked with the asterisk the manuals use for equipment that depends on model and options, and it appears on the integrated and freestanding cabinets that carry an IceMaker. The Malfunction chapter gives it the same one-line answer as the F-numbers: there is a problem, contact after-sales service.
Common Causes of FE
- A problem the electronics record under their own separate FE identifier rather than a numbered one
- A circuit associated with the optional equipment fitted to that model
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Nothing on the owner side. Because FE turns up on the plumbed and water-tank IceMaker models, it is worth noting whether ice production stopped at the same time, since that detail narrows the diagnosis before anyone opens the cabinet.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- FE sits on cabinets that combine refrigeration electronics with a water path, and telling those two apart from the outside is not something a display code lets you do.
- Where a water connection is involved, a problem left running can turn from an inconvenience into wet cabinetry, which is a reason to have it looked at rather than waited out.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
