What Thermostat Setting 1-7 Means
Not every Liebherr commercial refrigerator has electronics to report anything. The FKDv Premium is set with a coin, turning an arrow on the thermostat to a number between 1 and 7 — 1 is the warmest setting and 7 the coldest — and there is no display, no error code and no alarm anywhere on the cabinet.
Common Causes of Thermostat Setting 1-7
- The dial turned by a coin, a key or a passing hand without anyone noticing
- A setting that suited winter and no longer suits a hot kitchen in summer
- A thermostat that has drifted with age, so the same number no longer gives the same result
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
On a cabinet like this the thermometer is the diagnostic. Set the dial, wait a full day, and read what the interior actually does rather than what the number implies, because the scale is relative to the room the appliance stands in and not an absolute temperature.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- With no code and no alarm, the only way to tell a drifted thermostat from a refrigeration problem is measurement over time, and a cabinet that cannot hold its temperature at setting 7 has answered that question.
- Mechanical-thermostat cabinets are often the oldest equipment in a kitchen, which makes an accurate diagnosis more valuable rather than less — these units are usually worth repairing.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
