What Door Open Means
ProfiPremiumline cabinets carry a text display, and the door alarm is written out on it. While the door is open the Door Open message alternates with the normal temperature indication; after 240 seconds the audible warning sounds. Liebherr groups it as the one alarm that can be rectified immediately, which is a useful distinction on a controller that keeps an alarm log.
Common Causes of Door Open
- The door genuinely held open past four minutes during loading or stocktaking
- Stock, a basket or a pallet fouling the door and stopping it latching
- A gasket flattened or torn by commercial use, so the door rests without sealing
- Ice on the frame preventing the door from pulling home
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Cancel the tone with the alarm button and close the door. Four minutes is a generous allowance for loading, so an alarm reached during ordinary service usually means the door is not closing rather than that someone was slow.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Door Open is logged in the alarm memory with its start time, end time and the highest temperature reached, which makes a recurring one a trail worth reading rather than a nuisance to be muted.
- Gaskets on commercial freezers wear out on a schedule rather than at random, and one that has gone soft costs running hours continuously until it is replaced.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
