What nA Means
nA is Liebherr's FrostControl record on the commercial freezer controllers, and it reports history rather than a live problem. It means the cabinet temperature rose too far over the last few hours or days because of a power failure, and it holds the warmest temperature reached so the stock decision can be made on evidence.
Common Causes of nA
- A mains interruption long enough for the interior to rise past its threshold
- A tripped breaker or an isolator switched off during cleaning or a trade visit
- A socket or plug that lost contact behind a heavy cabinet
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press the alarm button while nA is showing: the peak temperature appears for about a minute before the display returns to the current reading, and a second press clears it. Write the figure down before you clear it — in a food business that number is the closest thing you have to a record of what happened overnight.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Liebherr's instruction with nA is to check the quality of the stored food and its suitability for consumption, and in a commercial kitchen that judgement carries obligations a home kitchen does not have.
- nA appearing when nobody reports an outage means power was lost unnoticed, and an intermittent supply to a commercial freezer is a problem that repeats until it is found.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
