What Appliance Does Not Work Means
Liebherr heads its Malfunction chapter with this one, and lists three causes before anything else: the appliance is not switched on, the plug is not properly seated, or the socket fuse has gone. It reads as obvious until you remember these cabinets have their own on/off control that holds the display dark while the appliance is still plugged in and live.
Common Causes of Appliance Does Not Work
- The appliance is switched off at its own control rather than at the wall
- The power plug is not properly inserted in the socket
- The socket fuse or the circuit breaker has tripped
- An internal supply problem, once the three documented checks come back clean
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Before you touch anything electrical, know which circuit the appliance is on and how to isolate it. Then check the three documented items in order: hold the on/off button long enough to switch the appliance on, reseat the plug, and check the fuse or breaker for that socket. On built-in models the socket is often inside a neighbouring cupboard rather than behind the appliance.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A breaker that trips again as soon as it is reset is telling you something about the circuit or the appliance, and repeatedly resetting it is not a diagnosis.
- On a fully integrated Liebherr the socket can be genuinely difficult to reach without pulling an appliance that is screwed to the furniture, which is where an owner check turns into a removal job.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
