BioFresh is one of Liebherr’s signature features — a separate, humidity-controlled compartment held just above freezing to keep produce, meat, and dairy fresh far longer than a standard fridge compartment. When it drifts even a few degrees warm, it stops doing what it’s designed for, even though the rest of the fridge may feel perfectly normal.
Check the Drawer Seal and Alignment
BioFresh drawers rely on a tighter seal than the main compartment to hold their lower target temperature. A drawer that isn’t closing flush — often from something as small as a stored item blocking it — is the most common reason we find for a warm BioFresh zone.
It’s a Separate Cooling Zone
On dual-compressor models, BioFresh and the main fridge compartment are cooled independently, so a BioFresh fault doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong with the rest of the unit — and vice versa. That independence is also why a BioFresh-specific sensor or damper fault needs a technician familiar with Liebherr’s zoned cooling design rather than a generalist.
Next Step
If the drawer is sealing properly and it’s still running warm, book a refrigerator diagnostic — BioFresh sensor and damper repairs are routine for our technicians.
