What Illuminated Display Panel Out Means
The lit canopy across the top of an FKDv or BCDv cabinet, and the adjustable interior lighting behind the glass, are the parts of a beverage display doing the selling. Liebherr documents both as features of these models, and restricts replacement of the lighting to a customer service technician or competent skilled personnel.
Common Causes of Illuminated Display Panel Out
- The lighting switched off at its own switch, which is separate on several models
- An LED strip or its driver at the end of its life
- A damaged lighting cover, which Liebherr treats as a safety issue in itself
- A canopy panel disturbed during a branding or sticker change
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the light switch and the supply, and nothing else — Liebherr attaches a class 1M radiation warning to the lighting cover and warns that severe eye injury can occur if the light is viewed through optical instruments with the cover removed. Leave the cover in place.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Liebherr's restriction here is about eye safety and live parts rather than about who gets the work, and it is stated plainly in the operating instructions.
- A dark display case in a retail space sells less from the day it goes out, which makes this one of the few lighting problems with a measurable cost attached.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
