SuperCool and SuperFrost are designed to temporarily run the compressor at full capacity — after a large grocery haul or before loading a freezer with a big batch of food — and then switch off automatically once the target has been reached or a set number of hours has passed. When that automatic shutoff doesn’t happen, it’s worth paying attention to.
First, Rule Out a Simple Restart
A brief power interruption can sometimes reset the timer on these functions without it being obvious. If the unit lost power recently, even briefly, try manually disengaging the function through the control panel before assuming a fault.
When It’s a Control Board Issue
If manually disengaging it doesn’t work, or it re-engages on its own, the control board’s logic for that function has likely failed — this doesn’t necessarily mean the whole board needs replacing, but it does need a technician to diagnose properly.
