What Appliance Does Not Function Means
Liebherr opens the commercial refrigerator Malfunctions list with three checks and nothing else: is the appliance switched on, is the plug correctly fitted, is the socket fuse intact. On cabinets with a mechanical thermostat there is a fourth possibility the list does not spell out, which is a control left at zero.
Common Causes of Appliance Does Not Function
- The appliance switched off, or a mechanical control turned to its zero position
- A plug that has worked loose in the socket behind heavy equipment
- A blown socket fuse or a tripped breaker on that circuit
- An internal supply problem once the documented checks are clean
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Work out which circuit the cabinet is on and how to isolate it before touching plugs or fuses. Then take the three documented checks in order. Liebherr also states that the socket must not sit behind the appliance and must be easily accessible, so on a correctly installed cabinet you should not have to move it to reach the plug.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Liebherr states that repairs and work on these appliances should be carried out by the customer service department, because unauthorised work could prove highly dangerous for the user.
- A breaker that will not hold is reporting a problem, and putting a stocked commercial cabinet back behind it repeatedly is not a test anyone should be running during service.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
